AGM 2015 RE-CAP
The Club’s annual meeting was complemented with the usual excellent catered meal from Extreme Catering and a truck load of door prizes from our generous sponsors. Kim Collier’s presentation of her rise from back-of-the-pack road runner to trail-and-ultra-marathoner, and many times a race winner, was well received by attendees. The secret to her success? Just keep running. Even after you’ve puked a couple dozen times. Kidding. Kim’s perseverance got her accepted to run with the Canadian team at the Worlds Mountain Running Championships in Switzerland this year. With that comes a certain celebrity status so next time you see Kim, give her a big hug and ask for her autograph. Good job Kim! We look forward to hearing about your future adventures!
Volunteers make our races go ‘round and we certainly love ours. This year saw the first annual CRR Volunteer of the Year Award aka Orange Toque Award presented. This special award commemorates Jim Clampett, volunteer extraordinaire, who always wore an orange toque at our races. The deserving volunteer who received this award was Kathy Taerum. Kathy has tirelessly given hours of her life to the Club’s Grand Prix xcountry race series and more. Thank you Kathy! You can see the award in the attached photo. Cute, isn’t it? I see this award becoming a high-demand item...
If you couldn’t attend the annual meeting this year, all is not lost. Chances are good that the Club will hold another one next year. Keep a close eye on the website announcements page then mark your calendar in red ink. That should get you there. Until then….
