This race was founded in 1974 by the Calgary Roadrunners Club (CRR). Its "retro" style and the 5 and 10 mile distances honour the race's namesake and those who originally set this historical event in motion.
This half marathon, 5 mile, and 1 km family fun run supports Calgary's L'Arche communities, where people who have developmental disabilities and those who come to assist share life and daytime activities together in family-like settings that are integrated into local neighbourhoods.
