The Original St. Patrick’s Day Road Race is looking for Volunteers
A message from Ken Tang, the St. Patrick’s Day Race Volunteer Coordinator, below.
As you may know, the St. Patrick’s Day race is the major fundraiser for our club, so it’s importance as well as safety and success can’t be overstated. If you do not plan to race on March 12th, but can spare a few hours to volunteer – please do so and register at the link below.

On behalf of the Original St. Patrick’s Day
We are happy to report that the Original St. Patrick’s Day
As a result, our volunteer opportunities will be much more streamlined – most of the focus will be placed on the start/finish line, or course marshalling (the very heart of the race!). Fewer spots will be allocated to food help this year because of the committee adhering to protocols and making the food as ‘grab and go’ as much as possible. We will also have spots available for package pick up before the actual event.
Thank you to those of you who have already contacted me, I will be emailing you individually as we draw closer to the date with more details for your role.
It will be awesome to see everyone that we’ve gotten to know, as well as meeting new faces. After all, this grassroots race of 36 years would not be able to RUN without amazing people like you. It is known as a season opener for many and a source of great fun for all of our racers. So come on down, snag an amazing t shirt for yourself, pick up some good race karma, and be inspired watching the athletes have their day! Did I also mention there’d be hot Irish pies available (Plus vegetarian options) for everyone as well? And don’t forget the traditional raffle for winning your weight in beers! That’s right! Volunteers are eligible to win as well!!
I’ve attached a link below for those of you wanting to sign up and help out. Just click on the ‘menu’ tab and then select the ‘Volunteer’ tab. Last year we had a lot of families / friends wanting to come out and help altogether in a group, and we were happy to accommodate. Should you have any requests or questions, please please do not hesitate to email, text or call me at 403-992-8625, and we’ll do our best to make it happen. To those of you who have already contacted me, I’ve already got you marked down , and if any of you know someone who’d like to volunteer, pass along my contact or forward this email along. If you know anyone who wants to attend this race because it’s a tonne of fun, let them know, it’s early bird pricing now so take advantage!
