Race Location:

Race is held in the Silver Springs community, and runs on pathways and trails of the Bowmont park, NW Calgary.

From Crowchild Trail heading northwest: exit on the right at Silver Springs Gate/Sarcee Trail and turn left at the overpass. Follow Silver Springs Gate as it curves to the right and becomes Silver Ridge Drive. Proceed through stoplights and the hall is on your right.  Race start is about 2 blocks from the hall.  Washrooms are located at Silver Springs hall.

Course Description:

Kids Race course is about 1 km long on the paved path.

The 8K Cross-Country route traverses hillsides, gullies and thickets. Snow, icy patches or mud may be encountered, depending on the weather prior to race day. Shoes with a good tread or spikes are recommended.

The 4K Run follows the same trail as the first portion of the 8K race.

Entry Fee:

• $12 General entry (per runner)
• $8 Calgary Roadrunner members
• $6 Full-time student
• $0 for Kids’ 1K Race. A parent or guardian must sign a waiver for each child entered in the Kids’ 1K Race.  Parents should print and sign a Kids 1K waiver form (also available at the start).

Post-Race Treats & Social:

Silver Springs Community Centre (5720 Silver Ridge Dr. NW).

Hot soup, rolls and beverages will be served. Please bring a dessert to share with race participants. To reduce waste, please bring your own mug, bowl and spoon.

Volunteering:

Volunteers are the people who make this event a success. Please contact the race directors to offer to help with race registration or in the kitchen (indoors), handing out numbered sticks at the finish line or as a course marshal (outdoors).
